Some new features include:

i. Converter for Oracle was greatly improved. New SQL and PL/SQL constructions such as ROLLUP/CUBE clauses, MERGE statement, NEXTVAL/CURVAL in one statement can now be converted. New packages DBMS_LOB, DBMS_SQL are migrated to T-SQL. Long awaited conversion or record variables into multiply variables (instead of single XML variable) is now a converter option. XML emulation of records and collections was revised.
ii. Converter for Sybase can now work with new Sybase 15.0 datatypes. Temporary tables created with SELECT INTO statement are supported, along with IDENTITY function in SELECT INTO statement. Temporary tables conversion has been improved greatly (“temporary table clean up option” was introduced, constraints and indexes for temporary tables conversion added, Pre-SQL text for procedures and triggers added). Many other migration algorithms have been redesigned.
iii. SSMA now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as a target server. New SQL Server 2008 features make it possible to generate more efficient T-SQL code during conversion. Extended DATETIME datatypes, MERGE statement, CLR implementation for Oracle collections are just few examples.
iv. SSMA for Access now support Access 2007 databases
v. Tester component has been added to SSMA for Sybase. New features of Sybase Tester (such as tables’ data testing and new comparison modes) were added to Oracle Tester too.
vi. SSMA v4.0 users can now enjoy new usability features like layouts, bookmarks, advanced browsing and search, banners
vii. SSMA v4.0 installation does not require J# redistributable anymore.
