Vinod Kumar

SP1 will provide the latest updates to Microsoft Project 2002 and Project Server 2002 and contains significant security enhancements as well as stability and performance improvements.  Both service packs contain all previously released updates to Project 2002 and Project Server 2002.  As with all service packs, all the enhancements are not announced externally or internally.  The primary focus of this SP was on:

  • Performance improvements largely for Project Server 2002 with a small number for Project Standard/Professional 2002 based upon learnings from the Project 2003 development cycle.
  • Security enhancements based upon findings from the Project security push in early 2003.
  • Fixed a small number of issues resulting in 48.6% of the RTM Watson crashes.
