Picture Post: Knowledge to Complicate July 25th, 2013

Vinod Kumar

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated – Confucius

Picture posts are always fun because we need to represent something complex in a simple way. I sit in hundreds of customer meetings where they try to bring their problem statements and when I see some of the architectures, I wonder – why are you complicating so much? I go by a simple mantra – for every complex problem there will be a thought through simple solution available unexplored.

To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge – Socrates

Welcome those big, sticky, complicated problems. In them are your most powerful opportunities – Ralph Marston

The picture above can be thought for multiple scenarios. How many of you are able to relate to this? Have you seen people throw jargons at you even without listening to the problem statement? Do you have instances that are worth to share? Do let me know with your comments, it will surely be fun to learn.

  1. The more we try to complicate the things … we will learn more and knowledge on it increases.

Having a complete knowledge and the acumen to position the appropriate technology is not same as complicating thing because of no clarity in your understanding. You will learn this over time Srini :) … Thanks for your note.
